Mbulelo

Encrypted with African rhythms and production structures, Mbulelo challenges that challenges even the most sophisticated DJs and dancers. Mebulelo grew up immersed in the deep and luxurious house music scene of South Arfica and from the tender age of 9 Mbulelo realized his extraordinary passion for music.

Mbulelo released his first solo EP in 2013 as “Xerophytic Soul” under DNH (Soulful Delight PT.1) that introduced the world to his sound. The EP included one of his most popular hit songs “Ancient Cultures”. He further developed his craft through his collaboration EP with The Jazz (Profound Nation). These two EPs placed Mbulelo on the global artists map. Driven by a strong passion for music and a unique sonic background, his work caught the attention of Transmat boss Derrick May, who released his latest EP, “The Robotics People”.

Mbulelo is the latest electronic music prodigy to be given a global platform on the Transmat imprint, placing him in the ranks of future greats like Carl Craig, Stacey Pullen and Aril Brikha. His eager experimentation caught the ear of Transmat founder Derrick May, who heard echoes of his own youthful sonic adventurousness as Rhythm Is Rhythm in Mbulelo’s fearless use of staccato beats and surprising synths.
